The Library of Parliament now provides access to the Historical Debates of the Parliament of Canada, a free searchable database in either English or French of digitized versions of the debates of the Senate and the House of Commons. [Canadiana.org is an organization dedicated to building Canada’s digital preservation infrastructure and providing the broadest possible access to Canadian documentary heritage.]
The Historical Debates of the Parliament of Canada portal includes all debates from Parliament 1, Session 1 (1867) until coverage begins on the Parliament of Canada website (1994 for the House of Commons, and 1996 for the Senate).
You can browse or search, and advanced searching is accepted.
The Parliament of Canada site also offers extensive information on how Parliament works, issue papers, glossaries, and much more.
